Lagos PDP Congress Cancelled As Thugs Invade Venue
The Lagos State planned congress of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been cancelled. Naija News understands that the cancellation was announced after some political thugs invaded the Tafawa Balewa Square, where the exercise had started on Saturday.
State Congress Electoral Committee Chairman, Engr. Benson Abounu while declaring the cancellation, noted that the congress was disrupted by the hoodlums who came with weapons to cause unrest.
It was alleged that the thugs invaded the venue of the congress with the intention of rigging the exercise.

The ongoing standoff between the Spanish region of Catalonia and Spain’s central government in Madrid escalated Friday when the Catalonian parliament voted to declare the region an independent republic.
